About the tour : Stavanger City Kayak Tour

Your journey begins at Engøyholmen Kystkultursenter. You’ll start by rowing a small old restored wooden boat, called a «færring,» across the narrow channel from the mainland to the isle Engøyholmen. Here, we’ll guide you through different eras of Stavanger history, from its foundation to the fishing and canning industry that put the city on the map before the oil era. This guided tour is located at the historical maritime museum on Engøyholmen.

With this rich knowledge at the back of your mind, and following a short briefing, we’ll depart on the main guided Stavanger kayak tour. The kayaking route takes us around the beautiful Stavanger City islands. On the tour, you will see different house structures, which are the old remnants of the fishing and canning industry. Throughout the trip, you’ll be treated to a spectacular view of the mountains and fjords in the distance , truly highlighting the border between sea and mountains.
