This kayak tour is the perfect adventure for all new beginners in kayaking and outdoor life. You will experience the Lysefjord in a fun and safe way.
The tour start at our meeting point, our kayak container right above the Dørvika bay. There you will be given a brief introduction and safety briefing before departing from the beach.
We’ll paddle further into the fjord, along steep cliffs, passing beautiful mountains, waterfalls and we may even see the local wildlife, like seals.
The Kayak Lysefjord tour also ends at Dørvika beach.
A professional guide. All kayaking equipment (double kayak, paddle, vest, splash jacket and pants).
Swimwear or long underwear (to have under the paddling gear) , Old trainers (Shoes that can get wet), towel, Sunscreen and sunglasses, Snacks and water
A little north of Forsand, along the road to Fossmork you’ll find our kayak container and base. Parking is available here as well as at Dørvika.
We’ll welcome you on the parking lot next to the kayak container at the time of the booking. Here you will be given a brief introduction and safety briefing before departing.
We will provide you with a certified bouancy aid and a spray skirt. Our guide will also be bringing a safety kit including first aid, rescue accessories, communications, pumps, and paddle floats.

What you need to wear (Under our gear):
Sunny & Warm: A t-shirt and shorts are usually fine.
Cold or Rainy: We strongly recommend wool or synthetic thermal base layers. Avoid cotton (jeans/hoodies) under the splash gear, as it gets cold and clammy if you sweat or get damp.
Footwear:
Shoes that can get wet: Neoprene shoes, old sneakers, sandals with heel straps, or Crocs. You will likely get your feet wet when entering the kayak.
Essentials:
Water bottle: Hydration is important.
Sun protection: Sunglasses, cap, and sunscreen (the sun is stronger on the water).
Valuables: We do not provide dry bags. Please leave electronics in your car or bring your own waterproof case.
For after the trip:
A full change of dry clothes and a towel.
Yes – you can store luggage on our site.
The minimum size is 3 people and the maximum size is 8 people.
We use the “Boreal Design Esperanto” double kayaks. The kayaks are stable and fast, perfect for anyone on a kayak trip in Norway.
The minimum age is 18, or 14 if accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Yes. You must be able to swim to attend this trip.
By car: Navigate to Halvorstraen 30, Hundvåg. Enter the road between the white and black house. Here you will find a big gravel parking lot with our beach flag. Our guide will be waiting for you here.
By bus: Take a public bus service from Stavanger city center to the stop named Engøy. The ride takes approximately 10 minutes. Walk to Halvorstraen 30, Hundvåg. This tour is only available during the summer, from Mid-June to end of August. In general this is a good time to visit Norway for the most stable weather.
