This intermediate kayak course in Stavanger is for those of you who already have some paddling experience but want to hone more skills and abilities in a sea kayaking.
Throughout this two-day kayak course, you will learn how to manoeuvre the kayak in medium-sized swell and windy conditions. This course features rock-hopping, surfing, intermediate rescues, difficult landings as well as basic camp craft.

The intermediate kayak course is held over two days, with a total of 16 hours in the Stavanger archipelago. 
This kayak course offers you a fantastic chance to level up your kayaking skills. Our main goal is to enhance your kayak maneuvering abilities through the mastery of improved and varied paddling techniques. We place a strong emphasis on safety, and you’ll also learn several essential rescue techniques. Plus, we’ll introduce you to the kayak roll. This two-day course qualifies you for the technical skills badge from the Norwegian Canoe Federation.

FAQ

Yes, if not in your own car, you can store everything that shouldn’t go in the kayak in the course room. There’s also quite a lot of space in the kayak, but everything must be packed in waterproof bags.

The groups will be a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 8 people per group.

Our equipment is primarily for adults, so the minimum age is 15 years old. Please contact info@nordicpaddling.no if you are in doubt.

Yes. You must be able to swim to join all our courses and tours.

Yes, it’s a good idea to bring an extra set of dry clothes. On the course, we use semi-dry suits, which means a little water can get in if you capsize or are in the water multiple times.

Yes, This course is not for beginners. You need a “våttkort”  from lower level courses before.
